Rituacharya ~ Flow with the Seasons

  • Boheme + Body Yoga Studio 221 Christine Avenue Varsity Lakes, QLD, 4227 Australia (map)

In the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda there is a practice called Rituacharya.

“Ritu” meaning season and “charya” meaning ritual or routine.

For thousands of years, it has been recognised that our unique constitutions or body-types are influenced by changes in nature throughout the yearly cycle.

The timing between seasons, such as the spring and fall equinoxes, and winter and summer solstices, is the perfect time to focus on preventing illness. Our bodies don’t exist in exception to the natural world. They are, instead, a part of it, integrated with it, and dependant on it for our health and wellbeing

Ayurveda places great importance on preventive medicine and teaches us ways in which we should modify our routines to maintain balance through the seasons by playing into the strengths of the elements and by seeking out pacifying actions. Everything in Ayurveda embraces this insight.
